Bathrooms are characterised, in general, as more restricted areas - they are not always the big, airey rooms we may hope for and, often, do not have natural light. As such, lighting becomes more important than usual. Lighting must be more intense than in the rest of our house, as compared with the needs of the room. Uniform light can be expressed through various bodies, selected according to the size of the bathroom. For a small bath uniform light can be obtained with the help of two bodies of lighting arranged on either side of the mirror, and for a large bath the light may be obtained by using a lightning body affixed to the ceiling, above huge mirrors.
The usual bathrooms in houses have small areas compared to the other rooms, and the common way of lighting these bathrooms would be from the ceiling regardless of the design and theme of that particular bathroom to save space. But there are other lighting fixtures for the bathroom that are available which are both stylish and appropriate to the bathroom size. These fixtures are not only installed in the bathroom ceiling but on walls of the bathroom as well.
The reason why sconces are ideal to be put around mirrors especially in bathrooms where all the make up and beautifying is done is that sconce lighting fixtures provide adequate lighting especially of the face. Bathroom lighting sconces also come in small bulbs for bathrooms with inadequate space. But the scones in bathroom lights are not only for bordering mirrors, they also serve as decorative lighting for the whole bathroom itself.
